“Our Best Of 2011 series is topped off by the one and only Martelo. Ryan Maher, a resident DJ on London’s NTS Live station, has had an incredibly active year. From festivals in Hong Kong to the Boiler Room to Fabric, he’s someone that I struggle to believe sleeps. His show on Dalston based NTS is amazing, showcasing everything he loves from 90′s R’N’B jams to cuts off Drake’s new album to Sinjin Hawke, it’s a must listen. For me, he’s a genius at finding and supporting new music, from all genres. I’m desperate to catch him live in 2012. On another note, I think his effort at Movember was the most impressive I’ve ever seen. Check his Facebook for proof. Tonight, Martelo plays at a warehouse in Hackney which promises “bonfires outside, cheap drinks” and “four floors of music”. If you’re around Hackney, make it. We can’t thank Martelo enough for sending over his top tracks of this year, so much love. X”
